DISCIPLINE & SANCTIONS POLICY

The school takes its responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment very seriously. As we have students from many different countries it is important that we have a set of rules which are clear to everyone.

The school rules are detailed in the Student Planner (a copy of which is given to each student on arrival at the school).

On arrival at the school students are asked to read through the rules with their personal tutor. The tutor will answer any questions students may have about the rules and explain the rules in more detail. Students are then asked to sign a "Code of Conduct" form, which commits them to uphold the school rules.

Students who break the school rules will be punished in accordance with the seriousness of the offence. A student who arrives late for class, for example, will be given some form of community service to do (e.g. working in the dining room or picking up litter). A student misbehaving in class will be grounded for two weekends.

Students who behave well will be rewarded with the opportunity to go on extra excursions. Certificates are also awarded each term to those students who have worked hard or made significant progress in class.
