Excursions

by Wilson Lee (Hong Kong) Mandy Nguyen(Vietnam)

With all our hundreds of exams to mug for, this term was much quieter than the last, often with subdued students sacrificing their Saturdays and Sundays by spending their time revising for the next “big thing” (Those wretched papers!). . However, theory tests and graded experiments were not all the highlights of this summer term.
The introduction of karaoke nights helped liven things up in the school, and there were other activities too. Students have got involved with the upcoming Tenbury Carnival to flaunt their national costumes. To top it off, we had a couple of reward excursions, two, to be precise, for well behaved students to look forward too.
Listen to how 2 excellent students chilled out at London and Birmingham!

London

This was my first time visiting London, and, in my opinion, it truly is an amazing city! First of all, I went to the bus stop to buy myself a ticket. During that trip, I stopped firstly at Fulham Road, then Oxford Street. Fulham Road happens to be where the Chelsea FC Stadium is located. As I set foot into the stadium, I realized a match was on. I wanted to get in badly, but so much for my dreams, the tickets had all been sold out! So I had to remain outside, but all was not lost since I did some sightseeing. It wasn’t so bad after all. At Oxford Street, I did some shopping! Browsing through the many shops and restaurants, I found myself some lunch, and got hold of some souvenirs for my family. It was such a lovely place for shopping! Lastly, I visited Victoria Station, where coaches ar- -rive and depart. I also saw many old, nice, historical buildings, of which I took numerous photographs. That done, I went back. Another 4 hour long journey to tolerate, but at least my family members would be happy. WILSON LEE, 16 , (Hong Kong) GCSE Course

Birmingham

I thought it a good idea to go shopping in Birmingham for the weekend. I had a chance to as a reward excursion was organized by school . This attracted many to Birmingham. It took about 1 hour and half to go there by bus . The bus dropped us off at the shopping centre and we had barely a few hours for shopping , that’s why we couldn’t go elsewhere . We didn’t want to be left behind! Time passes really fast when we go shopping ! Especially when there are big sales everywhere! When the afternoon came, we realized that we had only gone to 6 shops ! Where did time go today? We spent the remaining 1 hour to go to China town to buy food (especially noodles). No prizes for guessing how many carrier bags we returned with after the trip! (Hey man...SALES were on!) MANDY NGUYEN ,15, (Vietnam) GCSE Course
